8.High rigidity and high quality base:
1) During grinding, the most important is the retention of precision, which relays on the performance of thermal stability rather than anti-vibration. Cast iron itself has a very low coefficient of heat expansion, but very good heat conductivity, compared to the human-made granite. There arise a lot of heat during grinding, and it can be conducted out evenly through the cast iron base, thus, the machine is kept in a stable thermal status.
2) All the main structure parts are made from high grade cast irons or steels, including wheel head, work head, tail stock, spindles, and bearing holders. That ensures the machine body with continuous and similar materials, as well as stable thermal stability.
3) Any causal thermal change happened in short time will be compensated through the cast iron machine base, which is better than those made from steel or human-made granite.
4) Besides, the cast iron structure have high rigidity and good vibration absorption performance, better than the human-made granite. That fits the high precise grinding very much.
9. Longitudinal (Z axis) and horizontal (X axis) full support guides:
The worktable support surfaces are V-shape in one side and flat in the other side. And this structure has a good rigidity and heavy duty load capacity. The sliding surfaces are subjected to hand shoveling for the high precision. The sliding guides are covered with Turcite® coating, which is self lubricating, and also very low friction coefficient.
